Secrets of Pruning
I find myself at my age (old) struggling with the secrets of life. Even I, a nursery person, in January sometimes have a hard time engaging in the act of gardening. Could it be the lack of Vitamin D? I, like most people, am guilty of overthinking things. Are there really secrets to life? Or is it just a simple matter of stop overthinking things and the secrets tend to melt away like the fog.
NASA says the hole in the ozone layer is closing. It’s just what I heard. Thanks, human beings. Frankly, I wasn’t really thinking about it too much. I think my contribution was that I started eating more chicken, which meant less cow farts. After all, cows are the reason they say. Simple. I didn’t overthink this hole in our roof. I just stopped eating beef, or less of it anyway. Clear conscience. Check.
Pruning is a winter activity. You’ll be out there with your jacket and gloves. You’ll be cold. If pruning is an activity you overthink while standing out in the cold, then you’ll simply become an indecisive icicle.

I recently flew to Scotland to see my daughter who’s attending school. I have flown many times. Before pushback, the pilot came on and said “We’ll be pushing back soon as soon as we load the remainder of our cargo tonnage below”. I’ve never heard those words before. Not that way while sitting on an airplane. Why are we loading tonnage on a plane I’m sitting in? The plane is already a double-decker, bigger than a 747. I’m already thinking there’s no way this thing will get off the ground. I’ve been on one of these before so I know the math works as far as “tonnage”. Hell, what’s a few more tons? I just thought in my head, “I hope whoever is doing the calculations about ‘tonnage’ on this airplane is not an English Lit major.” This is one of the secrets of life, I suppose, that we just don’t think about sometimes.
Do you want to know the secrets of flight? The secret of perfect, silent flight? Do you want to know the secrets of some of our most exceptional birds? Have you ever seen an eagle? I have. There’s not a lot that goes through my mind when I’m staring at an eagle other than silent amazement.
March 3, 2018, (it’s also a Saturday) between 5:30 and 8:00 p.m.

This is not a secret of life. This is a fact of life. It is a fact of life that the consumption of High Hand olive oils and vinegars improves your ability to stand in the cold weather and prune. Sap is a form of sugar. This protects the tree from the winter frost. Oil, namely High-Hand Olive Oil, is a wonderful anti-freeze for your body. No, you don’t drink it directly. That would be stupid. You cook with it. Do you want to know more about the secrets and benefits that the High-Hand Olive Oil Company can have on your pruning skills?
It is no secret. Our online Olive Oil Store is up and running.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whenever, wherever you want, you can have the best olive oil and balsamic vinegar sent to you. Click here to visit High-Hand’s Olive Oil Store.
